School Captains
The roles of School Captain is extremely important. The School Captains represent the school and are role models for all students. They are recognised across the school, and as such, have greater accountability for all their actions.
Roles and Responsibilities may include:
- Hosting assembly
- Setting assembly agenda
- Greeting and meeting of guests
- Represent the school at outside functions
- Meetings with the Principal
- To create a newsletter item
- Student voice
House Captain Representatives
House Captains foster house spirit, engage students across the school and develop their sense of belonging to their school and their house team. House Captains encourage all students in their house to take part in sporting events, and model healthy competition and good sportsmanship. Each week House Captains are in charge of collecting and collating house points, with the results to be read out at assembly.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
At Gladysdale PS students are encourage to undertake leadership roles and foster ‘student voice’. Students attend meetings and discuss issues in and outside of school helping to raise money both for the school and charity.
Environmental Leaders
Our Environmental Leaders consist of students from Years 3-6 who promote and monitor environmental initiatives around the school:
- water saving
- composting
- gardening activities
- school audit reports and writing articles for the school newsletter
Peer Mediators
Students from Years 5-6 promote a friendly and open student community. Peer Mediators are trained to support and handle issues out on the playground.
